in 10 Metern weit von Piazza sank Lucia und in seine ' 600 Basilica; das wichtigste

thes Thema des Interesses,
der archäologische Park, das Meer und die Insel Ortigia sind innerhalb des gehenden

Abstandes durch Füße.
Die angrenzende Region ist reich an archäologischen, historischen Stätten und Naturparks.

In Syrakus gibt es eine griechische und römische Architekturstätte mit einem noch 

intakten Theater.
Im Westen befindet sich Pantalica, eine auf atemberaubenden Schluchten liegende 

Necropolis aus der Bronzezeit,
sowie Palazzolo, der inländische griechische Außenposten. Südlich liegt die 'barocco

Hauptstadt' von Noto, mit
seinen fantastischen Stadtblicken und der Naturpark von 'Vendicari', in Richtung dem

Meer und wo die Natur noch
unberührt blieb. Badeorte befinden sich in 'Fontane Bianche' und 'Arenella', die auch

mit dem Bus erreicht werden können.
Wichtigste Kulturfeste: im Frühjahr ‘Das klassische Griechische Theater’ und im 

Sommer das ‚Ortigia Festival’.

My 2 syracuse holiday flat are near the sea and this famous greek theatre:

"*The Theatre, whose cavea is one of the largest ever built by the ancient Greeks:

it has 67 rows, divided into 9 sections with 8 aisles. Only traces of the scene and the 

orchestra remain. The edifice (still used today) was modified by the Romans, who ada-

pted it to their different style of spectacles, including also circus games. Near the

theatre are the latomìe, stone quarries, also used as prisons in ancient times. The 

most famous latomìa is the Orecchio di Dionisio ("Ear of Dionysius").
The 2 sicily holiday flat are near: *The Roman amphitheatre, of Roman Imperial age. It was 

partly carved out from the rock.

In the centre of the area is a rectangular space which was used for the scenic machi-

nery.
*The so-called Tomb of Archimede, in the Grotticelli Nechropolis. Decorated with two 

Doric columns, it was a Roman tomb."

In the near "Piazza Santa Lucia" there is a BASILICA of the '600 with a 

a famous Caravaggio painting (1608) ("il seppellimento di Santa Lucia").

In this square there is an elegant typical Restaurant Bar where is possible to have 

breakfast and lunch, at about 300m there is a touristic port "lo Sbarcadero" where

it is possible by taxi boat going to Ortigia or to make sea excursions. Near

there is the characteristic district "the borgata" with stores, bar, market, Int-

ernet point. 

There are various places in which you can swim.

by foot you can join the "Marina", vast boulevard bordered of trees along the Port

Grande, where you find a small beach and can visit the considerable Siracusa coasts

by tourist boat. By foot you can join the archaeological zone with the Greek theatre,

Roman amphitheatre, the Ear of Dionigi, Latomy of the cappuccini, and the museum...

reachable by walking all the most important touristic attractions.
